Well, I've officially left my teenage years and hit the big 2-0. I don't feel any different, but then again, birthdays rarely do. Of course it doesn't help that any celebrating is going to have to wait till Friday, since I have night class tonight. -___-;; Friday's when I get my beloved paycheck, so you can bet your asses that I'm going to go crazy at Sephora. Ah, Sephora, how I love thee~~.

I'm back to working on Gilded Hawthorn, too. I think my inspiration for it had kind of been pushed aside with everything else that was going on, but thankfully it's back now, and things are moving again. It may also be partly fueled by my insatiable desire for Archer x Rin. Seriously, it's consuming my life. @______@

Got an 85% on the history paper I put off for writing the second chapter of Gilded Hawthorn, which proves you should never underestimate the power of a good outline(and already being well-versed in your paper's material). Go misplaced priorities!

As is obvious, I'm putting off GH for the moment to finish the March Challenge fic (which is Archer x Rin of course...and my very first lemon -____-). Once I'm done I'll be concentrating my full attention on finishing up chapter 3. I got Kung Fu Hustle on DVD, so hopefully I can use Donut's fighting scenes as a source for any Lancer action I do(they're both spear wielders).

It's mid-March, which means it's officially So.Cal's cue to start fucking with the weather. Sweltering days and cold nights-fun for the whole family! Not.

And dammit, I want my paycheck. There's stuff I wantneed to buy. Like the Gals! Season 2 box set. *counts days till the 31st*

Heh, it certainly has been awhile. My excuse: I've been working hard on the second chapter of Gilded Hawthorn. I say it's about 75-80% done, so look for it soon. Here's a excerpt for those of you that are interested (or just bored):

Halfway across town, a petite, lithe figure dressed in blue hissed softly in sudden alarm. Before her eyes the sigil on her left hand darkened from its normal scarred pink to a far more unsettling dark red. The sensation the symbol in the shape of two blades reflecting each other gave out was not painful, just...off-putting, much like the color it had just turned.

Strange as all this was, girl, sigil, and actions, not one person noticed. But then, it would take keen sight to notice a solitary figure nearly a hundred feet up off the ground, perfectly balanced of one of the turrets of the Tower of London. Even someone who did see would dismiss the impossible feat as a ghost sighting-one of Henry the Eighth’s many wives trying to escape her gruesome fate, perhaps. Considering the girl's incredible stealth, she may as well have been a spirit. Something in the way she leapt swiftly from turret to turret, though, would have dispelled the notion. No ghost in existence possessed such lethal grace.

The girl moved from roof to roof, one purpose in mind. But for one word, she was as silent as death itself.

"Shirou..."


Yes, it's everyone's favorite girl in blue, making her first appearance. There's a reason I avoided using her name (either of them), so don't be annoyed the lack of directness.

I did break long enough to watch part of Kung Fu Hustle-in orginal Chinese no less. My advice-don't be put off by the silly title-the action in this movie is just as jaw-dropping as the action in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Extra points for the extremely unorthodox use of a Chinese version of the koto, and being set in 1940's China. All in all it'll definitely be a big help for writing fight scenes for Gilded Hawthorn, because Lord knows I need all the help I can get.

Also very cool: I happened to be hanging around the Third Street Promenade passing time, when I was approached by a lady asking me if a I wanted a bit of one on one time with Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Carson. Of course I said yes, and in addition to our little chat (he was filimg a pilot for Lifetime, asking women in the area what their favorite and least favorite parts of their bodies were) I got a picture with him on my cell-phone cam. I'll try to put it up, though no guarantees.

Well, time to work some more on Gilded Hawthorn. I'll also be squeezing in time for the essay I really should be working on. At least the fact it's for history means I'll do somewhat well on it without much effot.
